The eyes include the compound eye and the simple eye: the compound eye helps bees understand color, light and directional information from the sun’s UV rays, while the function of the simple eye, also called ocelli, helps in determining the amount of light present. You’ll need them for glare analysis and false colour rendering. Once installed, check if you have the following files in C:/Radiance/bin: falsecolor2.exe and evalglare.exe. (Not anywhere else – I seemed to get errors otherwise.) Download Radiance from the NERL, or from Radiance-online if you have problems.Recently, an installer has been made available to make this much simpler. Radiance has its roots in UNIX, which historically made it difficult to install on Windows. Mostapha has created a guide and a video for further guidance on installing DAYSIM and Radiance.
